Ronald J. Bavero has been practicing in the field of matrimonial and family law for over 25 years.  A highly experienced and respected trial lawyer, Mr. Bavero is also a strong negotiator who favors settlement whenever possible.  He states that, "we litigate because our adversaries often leave us no choice.  When that occurs, the goal is to protect our clients' rights and restore order and sanity to the case so that it can be brought to a successful conclusion.”  

Mr. Bavero has been listed in Super Lawyers as a top attorney in the New York Metro area in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010; Top Attorneys in Westchester (2007); Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who in Legal Educators.  He is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and a member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association, Family Law Section.  Mr. Bavero is also Co-Chair of the New York State Bar Association, Family Law Section’s Committee on Judicial Relations and was Chair of the Westchester County Bar Association Family Law Committee.

Mr. Bavero is an esteemed educator and author in matrimonial and family law, having published and lectured extensively on topics such as complex financial aspects of equitable distribution and support, custody, domestic violence and trial practice.  Mr. Bavero has taught Matrimonial Law and Practice at Pace University School of Law from 2001 to the present, for which he regularly receives the highest ratings.   From 1986 through 1992, he was an adjunct assistant professor of law at Pace University Lubin School of Business.  Mr. Bavero has lectured on matrimonial and family law to the New York State Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Programs (1988 to the present), the Pace Women’s Justice Center Continuing Legal Education Seminars and Training Programs, the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Nassau, Queens, and Staten Island Women’s Bar Associations, and St. John’s University School of Law.

Mr. Bavero has broad professional experience in the courts, public service and private practice.  He began his career as a Confidential Law Assistant in the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court, Second Department.  Subsequently, he worked for seven years as an Assistant District Attorney in the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.  Mr. Bavero was then appointed to the position of Confidential Law Secretary to the Honorable Thomas A. Facelle in the Family Court of the State of New York.  Ron then embarked on private matrimonial and family law practice, including as a partner in a national, general practice law firm, before co-founding Berman Bavero Frucco & Gouz p.c.

Mr. Bavero received his B.A. from Fordham University and his Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s University School of Law, where he was an Associate Editor of the Law Review.  He is admitted to practice in New York State, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Bavero has four children, one of whom is following his footsteps as an Assistant District Attorney.  The others are equally capably professionally engaged, in the fields of speech pathology, teaching, therapy and the arts.
